Monitor Calibration Help Please!

Hello,

I have recently bought a ColorVision Spyder 2 and ran it on my laptop computer to find out most of my images need to be retouched again.

My printed is now doing a fairly good job but it can get better, although images and pages on most websites including mine appear over-saturated and over-contrasted in comparison to what my priory uncalibrated LCD was diaplaying.

When I asked here on LS whether my uncalibrated images on my website http://www.alexmasi.co.uk/home.php were looking good, I did receive some positive comments, and I am now wondering what is best to do to deal with both sides of life, print and web.

I have uploaded 2 different couples of images for you to check please and if somebody has a minute I would appreciate some help in solving this issue.

So the first two are low res. of images corrected with PS, but the same uncalibrated LCD:

The second couple is basically the same images after calibration:

Thank you for the help in getting this straight.

Another thing is that when printing from an uncalibrated LCD, even if the online version is ok, the print version becomes too blue, too dark, too saturated and so on…

Any advice on this please?

Also, has anybody used the same ColorVision 2 Pack, and found that Vista is unable to run the PrintFIX Plus program? For no apparent reason it just fail to open the .exe application…

OMG, so many problems I am considering getting my images printed by somebody else, although I have a good printer (Epson R1800) and lots of ink and paper…SIGH

Thank you,

Best,

Alex Masi
